AUDITORIUM / GYMNASIUM
LOCKER ROOM
Many Japanese schools do not have locker rooms. Instead the students change in their classrooms, explaining why many students wear their gym uniforms under their school uniforms. Because Gakuin practices the nontraditional method of the students traveling from class to class as opposed to the teachers, this method is not possible. Instead, Gakuin has locker rooms. The locker rooms are the only direct access to the gymnasium without going outside through the courtyard. Students are not expected to shower after gym class, but are required to wear a uniform, seen on the uniform webpage.
