SCHOOL GROUNDS
Gakuin High is located in an AU district in Tokyo, Japan called Kouman-ku (高慢区). The school is found in the neighborhood of Shitto-jo (嫉妬所) which is home to middle class citizens and a majority of the businesses. It is only a block away from a major train/subway crossing and is also located just off a busy road on the route of most city buses. The school is very large, resting on the location that had in the past been host of the military. As the area slowly became more populated and business oriented, the military building was demolished, and a school was built in its place. It consists of several buildings that are all linked together in some way. A majority of the buildings are four or five floors high, with the administrative buildings two floors high.
The buildings that host classrooms are designed like most schools in Japan. The buildings are narrow and consist of a line of classrooms and a hallway. Having a narrow building allows for all classrooms to have a wall of windows and the hallway to have a wall of windows, bringing in plenty of natural lights. The classrooms also have windows that look out at the hallway, but are located near the ceiling so as to only allow in more light, and not allow distractions from the hallways. The cafeteria is the only room that does not have a wall between the room and the hallway. The cafeteria is also the only room that has direct access to the courtyard, specifically the courtyard that has been transformed into an outdoor cafeteria (for more information, please review the page on Cafeteria.)

Many of the administrative buildings are off limits to the students, by rule of the headmaster. There are other buildings that are also off limits that are apparently abandoned. These buildings were left untouched while the other buildings were recently renovated. |

The school rests on several acres of land that is well landscaped due to the headmaster's obsession with attemptingto give the school the appearance of being a prestigious school instead of the deliquent school that it is. The land also divided into several different fields and courts to cater to all the sports and clubs offered at the school, including an archery range and a swimming pool for physical education.
This shows the bicycle hut that students leave their bikes if that is their method of transportation to school.
