STUDENT UNIFORMS
The students are to change into their winter uniforms starting on October 1st. They begin wearing their summer uniforms again on June 1st. These two dates are known as koromo-gae. Koromo-gae is hated by a vast number of students in Japan because the month of October usually has temperatures like those in summer and the winter uniforms are hot.
SPORTS ACTIVITIES UNIFORM
The students are required to change into uniforms before gym class. The uniform basically consists of a plain white tee that has the school crest on it along with the students name sewn on, black shorts, white socks, and white athletic shoes. The only difference between the males and females uniforms is that the females uniforms are much more smaller than the males. The males shorts end somewhere near the knee while the females have bloomers. The males are given baggy tees while the females wear tight shirts that end just at the hem of the shorts. During the summer months, class is held outside, but during the winter months, class is held in the gym. During fall Koromo-gae, the PE uniform becomes something similar to a track suit: pants and the white tee from before only with a jacket that matches the pants over it.
All students are required to swim during some part of their PE class. The males swim suit is simply black swim trunks with two white stripes on the outer sides. The swim trunks are shorter than the PE uniform shorts. The females swim suits are black one pieces with white hems. The bottom part of the one-pieces resemble bloomers.
